I am JH Venter, a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience.

 

I have worked extensively in the public sector with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, leading teams of psychologists across community teams, forensic settings, and inpatient care. I have also worked in GP practices and with teams of psychiatrists in the private sector. Furthermore, I was the clinical lead for a team of mental health professionals at UNSW, where we cared for the student population.

 

I am passionate about helping individuals to achieve their full potential. I support clients transitioning into adulthood and adults as they navigate various life stages and its obstacles by providing evidence-based treatment such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy.

 

My approach encourages clients to focus on their strengths and develop a self-compassionate mindset towards life. I am committed to provide a warm, empathic, and supportive environment that is private and confidential.

 

I am registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. I am also a Board approved supervisor and Medicare provider.
